I am a sailor on a ship and i Love a girl with eyes as blue as the sea so high But there’s a hole in the bottom of the ocean And if I fall off of this deck, I may die Well I am a soldier in a war and i Have marched across a field so far down from the sky And I don’t fear a bullet or a bayonet But If I can’t see you again I may cry Well I am an astronaut Flying above earth on a ball of fire There’s a comet headed right for me So if I fall back down, I hope I land in the sea I’ve traveled all across this whole damn world And there’s nothing that I’ve seen quite like you I’m sorry I’ve been gone so long, I hope the missing pages weren’t too Strong for you But there’s nothing I’ve seen quite like you Well I am scientist Experimenting with radiation If I grow a third arm, or a tentacle for a head, I certainly hope you’d still find the time to Sit with me in my bed Well I am a vagabond I roam around this land without purpose I’ve grown quite a beard and I don’t smell very good But I hope that you still think I’m at least hilarious Well I am a writer and i Pour my soul down onto a page I might drink a bit, or put holes in walls, cause I can’t take the rage But i would never hurt you, I’m just so tired of this place Awh, heck, Awh, heck I’ve traveled all across this whole damn world And there’s nothing that I’ve seen quite like you I’m sorry I’ve been gone so long, I hope the missing pages weren’t too Strong for you But there’s nothing I’ve seen quite like you

Get Lost 06:00
That wild wind blows us around Like falling leaves through the streets of a small town Go and get lost cause If you never get lost, you never get found Get lost Get lost I used to know a young guy, had no mountain to climb Well he left town during the winter some time I heard he’s in the army I wish him well, but don’t swear on me Cause my heart goes out with the western wind Well I know a girl, who’s got a lot to say The world kicked her around, it’s her dragon to slay She said she died that day But she’s strumming on her guitar, so I guess she’s okay Her hearts leavin on a train, called the western wind There’s an old man, on the sidewalk They say he’s crazy, and that I shouldn’t talk to him But doesn’t seem like that bad of a guy When I see him, I won’t be shy, He probably just left his mind with the western wind Well I wasn’t popular in highschool I was some fucked up wannabe poetic regretted fool But I guess I turned out alright Not too late to get tickets for the fight Of a sad kid beatin’ his heart against the western wind That wild wind blows us around Like falling leaves through the streets of a small town Go and get lost cause If you never get lost, you never get found Get lost Get lost

Thomas Jefferson And Marilyn Monroe Sat in the park Toe to toe He said stop And she said go A fire started in their brains He was sick of playin’ her games He said, “Baby, don’t tell me lies” Then he noticed It was the Fourth of July Well he left To walk the streets Alone She wandered off To Acapulco And found a casket With her name On the side, Taken in vain She knew who had scratched it on As she was approaching the dawn She thought, “Maybe it was only the rain” On that day called The Fourth of July Thomas Jefferson Walked down the road When a man called From his abode “Hey, don’t you know What day it is” Tommy said “No, but I can surely guess” And he continued on his way Knowing full well It was the Fourth Of July Ben Franklin stepped into his office Alone And he heard a ring On the telephone He heard Tom say “Hey How you been I’d like to see you again” So Ben went on to stormy skies Out on the Fourth Of July Tom And Ben Sat in a coffee shop Smoking hash And taking drops They spoke softly ‘Bout the government And the injins who were climbin the walls When Monroe came in, walking tall And Tom got hit by the ball Said “Ben, Get me outta this place!” And they ran out to the heat of The Fourth of July She followed them out Into the street Where they began To plant their feet A shot rang out As the sky grew dark A bullet landed in Toms brain That began to drive him insane Then she said, “Come take a walk with me Through this town on The Fourth of July” After it was all Said and done Tom sat alone with A mind on the run He couldn’t tell Who set the spark Of the flame inside his heart Was it her, was it an art? Or perhaps, it was just his fate On that day Called The Fourth of July

Once there was a young kid Playin on the sidewalk His friends were out of town From behind him He heard a soft sound That burned right through his soul He ran home to his mother dear, She said hush child, dry your tears He said ma, I’m gonna die I say, hush child don’t you cry You only heard The saddest song in the world A few years later, He was growin up He found himself a little girl And he loved her, Oh my, how he loved her And she said, I think maybe I love you too, I guess I don’t know But there was another guy goin after her too And she said, hey, I think I’ll go with you The other guy that is, And the kid Laid his heart down on the street And he played He played, he played, he played The saddest song In the world well the saddest song in the world wasn’t written for him it was for a soldier from Vietnam who liked to put the needle in his arm well he was no soldier from a war long gone he was no addict addled with no sense of right and wrong he was just a kid and he knew it so he forgot he forgot, he forgot the saddest song in the world well later on in his life he was a man had 2.3 kids, a dog, and a wife one day he was walking down the street he heard coins drop in a can there was a vet in a digital camo jacket and he looked tired more tired than any man alive so the kid, grown up now, he asked him said, “whatchyou doin son” vet sad, “v.a. got no budget, so I’m out here in the hot sun” and then he made a soft sound and it burned through the kid’s soul but different from those years before the words crashed down like a hammer the music rang and clamored like a thousand mighty winds and he said ma, ma where are you, I’m gonna die someone said, hush now, now ain’t the time to cry so the kid laid down on the sidewalk and he sang and he sang, he sang, he sang the saddest song in the world

The breath you drew Like a testament Wore the tongues it knew Like holy vestments There ain’t no god that I pray to But the times your heart beat Will have to do “Will you hear my sad decree I said I had a Diamond, not a Spade” said The Jack of Hearts as he run through The Everglades his heart beat hard in the heat of the summer weight “Well maybe I’ll just go down to Mexico See what I can see if my words will grow Hear that Spanish guitar sing soft and low Where, oh, where, did the time go Redemption Song, keep me on a roll Sing my blues right through the bedroom floor Redemption Song, cries Geronimo My soul’ll roll through like an old crow
